Audiology of Greenville, New Bern, Wilmington, and South Point is a full-service audiology practice. What Is an Audiologist?

An audiologist is a licensed hearing health professional who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of hearing loss. You can think of an Audiologist primarily as a “hearing doctor.” As Audiologists, we have a professional education (Doctoral/Master’s degree) with extensive training and clinical educational and technological Audiology. As Audiologists, we can be certified by the American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA) or the American Academy of Audiology (AAA).

An audiologist is a hearing health professional who has received licensure in one of a couple of ways. The American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA) is the certifying body for audiologists. You can ask to check an audiologists qualifications to see if they have a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (known as a CCC-A) from ASHA. People can also receive a Doctorate of Audiology (Au.D) to become audiologists.
